- 'Just Enough Unix to be Dangerous' will start out as a no-frills introduction to effective workflows with the shell and Unix (power of regular expressions, collaboration & version control, essential scripting). The whole project will be, however, heavily feedback-directed - the main purpose will be to determine in which fields / topics the audience would welcome further consultation and to build small groups with which then further individual block session(s) will be held in the future. Just to name a few possible examples - topics could include practical programming (Python idioms and workflows), parallel programming (stages of parallelization, interprocess communication, MPI), or even algorithms & data structures.
