- Beschreibung
- Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) at VUV photon energies (hv<150 eV) has been one of the most important tools to discover topological quantum materials over the last decade; however, there is a feeling in the community that progress in this field is slowing down. In this talk, I will show how soft X-ray ARPES (SX-ARPES) at higher photon energies can be used to probe previously inaccessible material parameters due to its increased probing depth, thus paving the way to discover new physics and enable novel applications. I will present examples of our recent SX-ARPES measurements highlighting its superior bulk band sensitivity that enabled the discovery of new Fermions in a chiral crystal, as well its ability to probe buried interfaces of heterostructures. Finally, I will give an outlook about our plans to measure magnetic samples and devices in the presence of electric fields, which I hope will engage the audience to think about future experiments.
