This DIPP Vision Talk will be postponed to another date which we’ll publish here in due time.
In 1896, E.B. Wilson published a seminal book, “The cell in development and heredity”, which was followed by a more extensive edition in 1925. He was one of the first who described the importance of linking cytology, genetics, development and physiology in order to understand life. In the next decades, these disciplines developed more or less independently of each other, before merging again only recently. Based on my own research, the talk will elaborate how this integrated approach formulated by him will contribute to unravel exciting questions in biology.
