- The Dresden Nexus Conference (DNC2020) will focus on the question of how a circular economy can contribute to a sustainable society and what role the Nexus Approach, i.e. the integrated management of natural resources, can play in this. In view of the current Coronavirus pandemic, the conference will be offered entirely virtually and free of charge. The DNC 2020 is jointly organised by the United Nations University (UNU-FLORES), the Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden), and the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER). The following experts from science and practice will enrich the conference as keynote speakers: - David M. Malone, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Rector of the United Nations University - Raimund Bleischwitz, Chair of Sustainable Global Resources at the University College London (UCL) and Director of the UCL Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER) - Sasha Koo-Oshima, Deputy Director of the Land & Water Division at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) - Brendan Edgerton, Director of Circular Economy at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development - Christina Dornack, Chair of and Head of the Institute of Waste Management and Circular Economy at TU Dresden Details on full virtual programme (keynotes, sessions, expert statements and side events) can be found on the DNC2020 website.
