- Beschreibung
- Get ready for captivating insights! Gabriela Santos from the National Center for Tumor Diseases and Matt Bovyn from the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics are at the forefront of colorectal cancer and liver disease research.
What makes their work so exciting? They're using unconventional approaches: tiny artificial mini-organs known as organoids and tissue models recreated by computers. Gabriela cultivates mini-intestines from patient tissue, which enables to uncover intriguing insights into the causes of diseases, including cancer. Matt builds models of pressure and tissue strength in the liver in a computer to enhance understanding of what can go wrong and become a disease.
Be there as these scientists share their groundbreaking discoveries – a unique opportunity to grasp modern methods propelling medical research and revolutionizing our comprehension of diseases. Witness progress firsthand!
The event will be held in English. Admission is free. The event series "Beerology - Science Pub Crawl" is organized by Live Science e.V., Winzerstraße 5, 01326 Dresden, see https://livesciencedresden.de/beerology/ - Links
