The study of mechanical properties of functional materials is a link necessary for both technological process calculations for product manufacturing and optimisation of technological routes. Such properties include elasticity characteristics - Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, plasticity characteristics - flow curves and limit characteristics before fracture. Mn-Al base alloy, as one of the promising magnetic alloys worked which IFW is working, is of considerable interest from this point of view, but the existing data on its mechanical properties are limited. Also at processing temperatures, this material exhibits a dynamic recrystallisation phenomenon, which can and has to be used as an important property to reduce the deformation resistance. The mathematical model in this case should take into account the strain value, temperature and rate factor, which allows to establish an appropriate optimisation problem. A macro-level phenomenological approach based on heredity theory for this type of modelling is the most promising from a practical point of view. The present talk is dedicated to the presentation of existing approaches, the justification of possible solutions and a preliminary analysis of the data obtained.
