low-background vacuum chamber for the measurement of low activity sources
was designed and built. The goal of this experiment is the measurement of
the betaspectrum of 115In and the determination of the shape factor of 4th
forbidden non-unique transitions. Due to the excellent resolution of mode
rn semiconductor detectors and their low susceptibility to interference\,
they are the detectors of choice. Due to the long half-life of 115In with
4.41∙1014y\, their exist special demands on the source and chamber desig
 n. This work examines the influences of the source\, the detectors and the
chamber to a measured spectrum by using Monte-Carlo-simulations and propo
se solutions for diverse\, in the spectroscopy occurring problems. The con
structed chamber and its components are presented and discussed. After tha
t a proposal for the reconstruction of the real spectrum from the measured
one and the determination of response functions of monoenergetic electron
s will be given. Finally\, measurements made previously are discussed and
an outlook of the experiment is presented.
