- Beschreibung
- Scientists across several disciplines have recently become interested in the possibility that quantum-mechanical phenomena may play a role in the energy-transfer processes of photosynthetic organisms and synthetic light-absorbing materials. This interest was generated primarily by the observation of oscillations in cross peaks present in two-dimensional electronic spectra (2DES). I will briefly introduce the photosynthetic systems studied in the Scholes group and cover the basic principles of 2DES. I will also discuss some current research on relating coherent fs pulses (used to study photosynthetic systems in the lab) to incoherent sources of light such as sunlight.
