- Beschreibung
- Motivated by recent experimental developments in Pr-based 1-2-20 compounds [1] PrT2X20 (T=Ir, Rh,Ti,V and X=Zn, Al), which exhibit orbital orders at low temperatures, we investigate the orbital (quadrupole) orders in these systems [2]. We can show that simple-minded so-called O22 order is impossible in cubic symmetries and Ferro-quadrupole transition should be in general first order from symmetry arguments. Mean-field phase diagram and spin-wave spectra are calculated and we will discuss the consequence of antiferro quadrupole order in this system, which is expected to occur in most of the 1-2-20 systems.
