- Beschreibung
- Transport in systems of varying confinement has become the subject of growing attention in recent years since such systems are ubiquitous in biology and technology. This talk is aimed at summarizing recent work mostly (but not exclusively) from our lab that concentrates on studies of transport through biological membrane channels and similar structures. Entropy potentials arise as a natural consequence of the one-dimensional description of these structures and, in many cases, their introduction allows for instructive analytical solutions of the transport problems. Limits of applicability of such a description, as well as some experimental and computational examples, will be discussed in the talk.
