- Description
- An international symposium to be held in Dresden from 11 to 13 November 2015 will address the recent trends in spatial analysis and modelling of settlements and infrastructure and their benefit for a sustainable land use. Registration until: November 06. The “International Land Use Symposium (ILUS) 2015” organised by the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER) will be held in Dresden from 11 to 13 November 2015. It is financially supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation, DFG). In particular, the interdisciplinary meeting will examine new ideas in overlapping fields of studies with the goal of advancing our understanding of built-up areas, and how recent developments in spatial analysis and modelling can lead to sustainable resource management, better support of planning and urban and regional development, enhanced spatial information and knowledge, and optimized strategies, instruments and tools. The International Symposium brings together leading academics and interested attendees for presentation, discussion, and collaborative networking in the fields of spatial sciences, environmental studies, geography, cartography, GIScience, urban planning, architecture, which relate to investigations of settlements and infrastructure. Keynote addresses will be held by internationally renowned scientists in the field of spatial analysis such as Denise Pumain from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris/France, Harvey J. Miller from the Ohio State University in Columbus/USA, Itzhak Benenson from the Tel-Aviv Universi-ty/Israel as well as Bin Jiang from the University of Gävle/Sweden. Topics: - Towards a better Understanding of Settlements and Infrastructure - Geographic Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery - Spatial Modelling, System Dynamics and Geosimulation - Multi-Scale Representation and Analysis Registration until November 06 via: http://www.ioer.de/ilus2015/registration.html Contact: Dr. Martin Behnisch, Telefon: (0351) 46 79-260, E-Mail: M.Behnisch@ioer.de
