- Description
- We propose an experimental scheme to realize a tunable nano heat engine based on a single ion in a tapered linear Paul trap coupled to engineered laser reservoirs. We present explicit expressions for the efficiency at maximum power in various regimes. Furthermore, we describe a general theoretical framework of a quantum heat engine coupled to stationary nonequilibrium reservoirs. We finally show that the use of nonthermal reservoirs offer more degree of control and manipulation that can be exploited to enhance the engine performance.
