molecular interactions\, such as protein-protein\, protein-nucleic acid or
protein-small molecule\, is a prerequisite to understand biological proce
sses on a molecular level. In the recent years MicroScale Thermophoresis (
MST) has proven to be a fast and efficient tool for the quantification of
biomolecular interactions. As MST yields important information about sampl
e quality such as aggregation in addition to the dissociation constant\, t
his method allows for a straight forward optimization of sample conditions
. In order to get the maximum out of an MST experiment\, it is necessary r
ead the signs of different events and artifacts. This presentation focuses
on the practical aspects of MST such as experimental design\, data evalua
tion and assay optimization. In detail subjects like non-standard binding
events\, alternative labeling strategies and fluorescence effects will be
 discussed.
