- Description
- The extended t-J model is considered to be a minimal model to understand the high temperature superconductor cuprates. The strong correlation of the model has hindered theoretical progress in quantitative prediction of its spectra. However by using a variational approach, we could study the ground state phase diagram and the low energy spectra reliably. We shall demonstrate that the model inherently predicts many inhomogeneous low energy excitations which could be considered as competing states. Comparison with properties of hole- and electron-doped cuprates will be discussed also.
