- Description
- The temporal dynamics of cross-modal brain responses under unisensory input conditions remain largely unknown. We plan to use MEG to examine the timing of visuomotor contributions to the perception of auditory foreign language (L2) words following multisensory L2 training, in order to test opposing predictions of multisensory learning theories. We expect greater visual and motor responses during the early, sensory processing of L2 words following multisensory compared to unisensory training. We also expect visuomotor responses to positively correlate with the behavioral benefits of multisensory training. Together these results would suggest that multisensory learning benefits are at least partially derived from early cross-modal neural responses.
