talk reviews the supersymmetric field-theoretic technique for disordered n
on-interacting systems. It will be shown that the averaging of disorder re
sults in a non-linear sigma model of supermatrix fields in the saddle poin
t approximation. The supersymmetric field theory then allows a straightfor
ward computation of physical effects (i.e. diffusion poles) that would req
uire\, in standard perturbation theory\, tedious analysis of diagrams to a
ll orders\, as well as other results that are not obtained in perturbation
theory. If time allows\, the conceptual idea behind applying supersymmetr
y technique to derive Random Matrix Theory can also be briefly discussed.
The talk will be mainly based on Sec 3.1 and 3.3 of the paper 'K.B. Efetov
(1983) Supersymmetry and theory of disordered metals\, Advances in Physic
 s\, 32:1\, 53-127\, DOI: 10.1080/00018738300101531'
