Title: “Demultiplexing complex tissue regeneration”
Abstract: Salamanders demonstrate remarkable regenerative capacity. Using single-cell sequencing approaches we have found that the regenerating limb is a complex immune milieu. We now in the processes of identifying the cellular composition of the salamander immune system and investigating how the immune system impacts regenerative outcomes. This involves a deep characterization of the salamander immune system paired with genetic knockouts that will allow us to test the role of specific immune cells in regeneration.
