Description

The lack of advanced nanosensing technologies with ultrahigh sensitivity and durability is costing the Australian and global economies significantly. In the food industry, food loss and waste cost the global economy ~$990bn per year, with more than 40% of food loss occurring at post-harvest, storage, and processing stages, which could be minimised using flexible and printable nanosensors. The current nanosensing materials are intrinsically brittle in nature and suffer from poor flexibility and conductivity, hindering their practical application. Our team is focused on developing cost-effective, easy-to-fabricate, flexible and stretchable sensing materials to revolutionise the sensing technology. The novel technologies developed by our team could be a game-changer for manufacturing of complex nanosensors benefiting a wide variety of industries including environmental safety, food industry, public security, health monitoring, and many other industrial applications that rely on nanosensing technologies.
