- The talk "UK nuclear clean-up efforts - Nuclear in the UK, and Nuclear Research at The University of Manchester" will start with briefly discussing the UK’s nuclear legacy and nuclear ambitions highlighting the challenges for clean-up. Katherine will then introduce the Dalton Nuclear Institute at The University of Manchester and highlight Manchester’s nuclear heritage and activities. Finally, she will highlight some technical work we have undertaken in the Radioactive waste Disposal and Environmental Remediation group of relevance to the HZDR Radioecology Community including radioactive effluent treatment, radioactively contaminated land, and radioactive waste disposal.
