- Description
Heavy Neutral Leptons (HNLs) are promising candidates for new physics beyond the Standard Model, particularly in neutrino mass generation and dark matter searches. This talk focuses on recent experimental efforts to detect HNLs. The ATLAS experiment at the LHC has conducted searches for HNLs produced via weak boson decays, setting stringent limits on their masses and mixing angles with Standard Model neutrinos. Additionally, the SHiP experiment, currently in preparation, is designed to explore a complementary region of parameter space, targeting long-lived HNLs with unprecedented sensitivity. These efforts present the evolving experimental frontier in the quest to uncover the existence of HNLs.
