- Description
- An external electric field has recently been considered as an efficient tool for controlling spin-wave characteristics. In insulating antiferromagnets, under the influence of an electric field, the spin-wave spectrum splits into right-handed and left-handed modes due to the Aharonov-Casher effect. Each of these modes has its own wave vector and attenuation length, as well as distinct spatial and temporal damping behaviors. Furthermore, it is shown that, under the influence of an external electric field, antiferromagnets exhibit an anomalous region in the frequency spectrum and group velocity. Within this regime, strong “friction” effects emerge, resulting in a pronounced suppression of spectral characteristics and a sharp jump in the group velocity, reaching magnitudes of approximately 300 km/s. These results open new possibilities for electric-field control of spin-wave propagation and damping in antiferromagnetic magnonic devices. .
