- Description
- Double exchange model, where itinerant electrons couple to localised spins on lattice sites, in context of metallic magnetism has served well to understand properties of a variety of materials like mangenites and double perovskites. Defined on bipartite lattices, its variants give access to a variety of commensurate anti ferromagnetic phases like A-type C-type and G-type along with ferromagnetism. However, the situations where the lattice is frustrated, like the case of FCC lattice itself, and in context of double perovskite with one magnetic sites where the 'effective magnetic lattice' is FCC, the simple collinear anti ferromagnetic phases like G-type are forbidden, and exotic non-collinear phases are expected. We map out the ground state magnetic phase diagram, and study the finite temperature properties like T$_c$ scales etc, for such system.
