- Advisor: Dr. Anni-Yasmin Turhan In this talk we present similarity measures for concept descriptions in Description Logics. In many practical applications these measures are an important means to compare concept descriptions, i.e., assess their similarity. We present several properties for similarity measures which aim to aid the evaluation of a measure and we use this properties to point out that current measures show unintuitive behaviour. For instance, some similarity measures do not yield the same values, if equivalent concepts are compared with a third one. Additionally, a similarity-measures framework for concept descriptions written in the description Logic ELH is presented and its properties are analysed.
