- Description
- Within the PrimeLife project there is a task to implement the “Privacy Throughout Life Demonstrator”, which performs a privacy-aware backup of user`s data. The demonstrator performs a backup task with respect to different areas of live of the user and stores data on different cloud data storage providers in order to preserve privacy and to protect against unwanted data loss. The aim of this work is to analyse and compare existing data redundancy schemes with respect to applicability to the described scenario and discuss which enhancements should be done in order to preserve user`s privacy. As an example, the question should be answered: how and where the meta-data should be stored. In the work it should be assumed, that all user data is tagged with the meta-information describing its privacy properties and the data will be provided in an encrypted form. Once the suitable redundancy scheme is found, a prototype should be implemented, which takes data as well as its meta-data as an input and distributes it into different locations according to the redundancy scheme. The prototype should be implemented in a form of library, situated on a user local machine. The preferable language for the prototype is Java.
