- Description
- The talk explains how genealogies of the individuals of a spatial population currently alive can be modelled by extended marked ultrametric measure spaces. This leads to stochastic processes in the isomorphy classes of such spaces. The process which can be defined via wellposed martingale problems. On the basis of such a characterization it is possible to address rigorously some old questions, as for example whether under selection genealogical distances tend to be smaller. The talk is based on a series of papers jointly with A. Depperschmidt, P. Pfaffelhuber and A. Winter.
