- Description
- I will discuss several generalizations of standard models of isothermal Brownian ratchets and motors (rocking vs. flashing) towards operating in viscoelastic environments like cytosol of biological cells. The model incorporates profound non-Markovian memory effects and has relation to fractional Langevin equation describing subdiffusion. However, it can be considered as independent approach to anomalous transport and subdiffusion, where viscoelastic environment is modeled just by a handful of auxiliary Brownian quasi-particles obeying a fractal scaling and corresponding to generalized Maxwell-Langevin model of viscoelasticity [1]. A plethora of unusual and highly nontrivial results is obtained which will be discussed in this talk. [1]I. Goychuk, Viscoelastic subdiffusion: generalized Langevin equation approach, Adv. Chem.
