- Description
- The ATLAS experiment is a general-purpose detector located in one of the four interaction points of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, Switzerland. In 2010 LHC has been colliding proton beams at the unprecedented centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. A total of ~40 pb of data have been collected with the ATLAS detector, and analyzed to provide the first physics results on Standard Model measurements and New Physics searches. In this seminar, a survey of the status of the ATLAS detector during last year run will be presented. The results that will be presented and discussed include the study of minimum bias events, jet, W/Z, diboson, and top production. Limits on particle production expected by models beyond SM will be also illustrated.
