a large research interest due to their broad applicability in many branch
es of (electrical) engineering and science. For example\, one can imagine
an electrical circuit consisting of various parts. The question is how to
design the circuit in a way that it will continue working if one of the pa
rts fails. In this context\, the moment of failing would be called a switc
h\, which generates a completely different system behaviour. The talk wil
l deal with the contents of my diploma thesis\, in which I investigated st
ability of both positive linear discrete-time and continuous-time switched
systems. I therefore transferred the standard theory into a more general
mathematical setting and provided sufficient criteria for stability.
