- Description
- Most physics analyses carried out using data collected by the ATLAS experiment in pp collision need a deep understanding of electron reconstruction and identification requirements. In addition, isolation criteria are usually imposed on electrons to further reject fakes (other particles mis-identified as electrons). Impact parameter requirements play an important role to select tracks compatible with the primary vertex of interaction. A detailed approach used for studying electron performances (efficiencies, data to MC correction factors) on Run I data will be presented together with a look at the first results and expectations towards Run II.
