Description
Braiding of Majorana zero modes provides a promising platform for quantum information processing. Strictly speaking, however, the scheme relies on infinite braiding times as it utilizes the adiabatic limit. I will discuss how to minimize nonadiabatic errors for finite braiding times by finding an optimal protocol for the Majorana movement or adding so-called counter diabatic terms to the Hamiltonian. In the second part of the talk I will present a scheme to substantially increase the robustness of a Majorana pi/8 phase gate, which is a missing ingredient when implementing universal quantum computation using Majorana bound states.
